Citigroup Inc. is offering a mobile banking service in Spanish.
The banking company said its Citi Mobile en Espanol service, announced Thursday, is the first such service available from a major U.S. bank.
The service runs on any phone with Internet access and enables users to view account balances and transactions, pay bills, transfer funds between accounts and find nearby branches — the same features already available through its English-language mobile service.
Citi said Hispanics make up nearly a quarter of its U.S. customer base.
