Compass Promotes SBA Lending Execs

The two men who head Compass Bancshares' Small Business Administration lending have been promoted.

Kirk Fullerton and Gregory A. Clarkson, who were vice presidents of Compass Bank of Texas, Houston, were named senior vice presidents of the unit.

Mr. Fullerton, a 25-year veteran of banking, manages the SBA lending team for all three states in which the Birmingham, Ala., parent company has branches-Texas, Alabama, and Florida.

Mr. Clarkson is responsible for companywide SBA loan operations, including closing, funding, servicing, and collection. He has 11 years of banking experience.

The two are based in Dallas and have worked for Compass since 1996.

The Texas bank also hired Helen H. Woodby as a vice president in Houston business banking. She will provide commercial lending, treasury management, investment, and asset management services to middle-market companies.
