Corrections: 12/04/98

A Dec. 4 article on page 9, "Slow Progress on Web Privacy Seen Inviting Regulation," misattributed the observation that nearly 80% of large banks have posted privacy policies on their Web sites, but that the numbers "go way down with the small and medium-size banks." The source was Marcia Sullivan, director of government relations for the Consumer Bankers Association.

A Dec. 9 article on page 32, "Baltimore's Mercantile, Bank of New York Dip Despite Buyback Plans," gave the wrong stock price information for Bank of New York Co. Its shares fell 43.75 cents on Dec. 8, to $35.8125. The article also named the wrong merger partner for SunTrust Inc. SunTrust has agreed to acquire Crestar Financial.
