Customized Visa Debit Cards Introduced

The faces of Visa U.S.A. Inc.'s reloadable debit cards for teenagers can now be customized with photos and other design elements provided by individual cardholders.

PayJr., the online financial services company that offers the VisaBuxx card, and Serverside Group, a digital card design group, said Thursday that they had created a program to let people upload images and design their own cards online.

In an effort to promote the VisaBuxx card and the self-design feature, the companies said they would hold an online card design competition and offer technology for users to display their designs on MySpace.com pages and to forward them to family and friends.

They also said they were completing licensing agreements with athletes, "parent-friendly" musicians, and other popular teenage brands.

"Learning how to manage money will finally be cool," Adam Elgar, the president of Serverside Group, said in a press release.

PayJr.'s VisaBuxx cards are issued by BankFirst in Sioux Falls, S.D.
