Discover Extends IBM Tech Agreement

The card company Discover Financial Services Inc. has extended through 2015 an information technology outsourcing agreement with International Business Machines Corp.

Under the agreement, IBM, an Armonk, N.Y., technology company, is to keep supplying software and processing and storage services to Discover, of Riverwoods, Ill.

"Technology plays a key role in all aspects of Discover's business," Glenn Schneider, a senior vice president at Discover and its chief information officer, said in an IBM press release last week. Through the agreement, he said, "we expect to further enhance our customer experience while realizing increased efficiencies."
