Discover Financial Services has signed a merchant acquirer agreement with First National Bank Alaska.
The deal lets the Anchorage company offer Discover card acceptance to all its merchant customers. The Riverwoods, Ill., card company said the agreement underscores its "multiyear" effort to sign up the top 100 merchant acquirers in the U.S.
"With this program in place, we can offer our merchants a comprehensive solution that allows them to maximize their business," said First National Vice President Christine Newsome. It has automated teller machines and 30 branches in 18 Alaska communities.
