Ivanka Trump, the 29-year-old daughter of Donald Trump, is an heiress to her father's real estate fortune, helps run The Donald's business empire and has a recurring part on a reality TV show. Now she can add another title to her resume — bank director.
Signature Bank, a $13.1 billion-asset commercial bank based in Manhattan, said Wednesday that Ivanka Trump has joined its board. She takes the seat that had been held by Frank Selvaggi, a business advisor to celebrities and entertainment-industry big shots. Selvaggi resigned citing time constraints.
Ivanka Trump, a Wharton School of Finance of the University of Pennsylvania graduate, holds the title of executive vice president of development and acquisitions for her father's Trump Organization. She, her two brothers and The Donald "in conjunction" direct all areas of the company's real estate and hotel management pursuits, according to a news release. She's also a judge on "The Apprentice," the long-running NBC program that her father created and hosts.
Signature's chairman, Scott A. Shay, said that Ivanka Trump reflects "the next generation of business leaders" and that Signature will benefit from her "business acumen and savvy."
