Don't Cut the Boss Too Much Slack

Jeff Sattler, president of Nuvo Bank & Trust Co., told everyone Wednesday that he's going to jump off a building.

But don't worry — it's a stunt for charity, not despair from trying to grow Nuvo's loan portfolio, and he plans to use a rope.

Sattler is taking the leap to raise money for a local Boy Scouts of America council in western Massachusetts. He plans to rappel down the 13-story City Place Inn & Suites on Sept. 30, in downtown Springfield, Mass. Shardool Parmar of Gulmohar Hospitality, the hotel's owner, will join him.

Anyone who pledges at least $1,000 to the local Boy Scouts council can also rappel down the side of the hotel, if they dare.

"I've been joking with my clients and asking them if they've ever wanted to tell their commercial lender to take a flying leap off a tall building," Sattler said in a release. "Now they'll have that opportunity when they watch me — sort of."

Sattler is also the chief lending officer at Nuvo, a $75.3 million-asset bank with one office in Springfield. He previously worked for TD Banknorth and BayBank.
