The chief financial officer of Eagle Bancorp Montana (EBMT) in Helena, Mont., is stepping down to pursue another opportunity.

Sterling Financial (STSA) in Spokane, Wash., is selling all of its Montana branches as it aims to become more efficient and improve its overall profits. Eagle Bancorp is buying the branches for $7.3 million.

Eagle Bancorp Montana (EBMT) in Helena, Mont., has named Laura Clark as its chief financial officer.
Clark will join the $514 million-asset Eagle on March 3, according to the companys Tuesday press release. Eagle's previous CFO, Clint Morrison,
Clark formerly served as senior vice president and CFO of the Bank of Bozeman in Montana. Over the course of 30 years in banking, she has held executive positions at First National Bancorp, Bankers Resource Center, Security Bank, Bank of Montana System and Montana Bancsystem.
"[Clark] has deep roots in our community, and is one of the most respected bankers in our Montana markets," Eagle president and chief executive Peter Johnson said in the release. "We are delighted to have her join our executive management team as our new CFO."
