Mellon Financial Corp. in Pittsburgh has hired Mellon Financial Corp. in Pittsburgh has hired Kym J. Zilk as a vice president and a sales officer in its private wealth management group in San Francisco.

Ms. Zilk was a San Francisco-based national sales manager for managed accounts at the New York-based Zurich Scudder Investments, which Deutsche Bank AG acquired from Zurich Financial Services AG in April. Before joining Zurich Scudder she had been a vice president in the private client group at Bank of America Corp.


U.S. Trust Corp., a New York subsidiary of Charles Schwab Corp., has promoted two senior vice presidents, Kimbrough T. Kellison and Linda R. Franciscovich, to managing director.Ms. Kellison remains a senior portfolio manager in the wealth management group and a member of the company's portfolio policy committee, which establishes investment guidelines and strategy. She joined U.S. Trust in 1991. (Schwab acquired it in 2000.)

Ms. Franciscovich, who had been a senior vice president since 1998, remains the head of U.S. Trust's philanthropic advisory services group.

Before joining U.S. Trust in 1995 as a vice president she had been a San Francisco-based relationship manager for nonprofit clients for a year at the Los Angeles-based State Street Bank and Trust Co. of California. Earlier she had been the manager of planned giving for three years at the University of California at San Francisco, and before that a trust officer for three years at the New York-based Irving Trust Co. (which Bank of New York Co. acquired in 1989).

U.S. Trust also hired Bryan D. Allen and Daina H. Hill as managing directors.

Mr. Allen was named the head of human resources. He was an executive director in corporate systems focusing on firmwide technology integration at Morgan Stanley, for which he had worked 13 years as the director of human resources for the European institutional securities division and in compensation and human resources systems and strategy.

Ms. Hill was named U.S. Trust's general counsel and director of corporate oversight. She was a vice president and the deputy general counsel for emerging markets at Citigroup Inc., having worked for it and its predecessor Citicorp for 15 years.

Before taking her last job at Citigroup she had been the deputy general counsel for its global corporate and investment bank and the general counsel of Citibank Private Bank. Before joining Citicorp she had worked seven years at the Washington law firm of Barnett, Sivon, Schott & Chay; earlier she had been a legislative staff assistant for two years for Sen. John McClellan, D-Ark.
