Monarch Community Bancorp Inc. said that John R. Schroll, the president and chief executive of the Coldwater, Mich., company and its $288 million-asset Monarch Community Bank, has resigned.
William C. Kurtz, their chief financial officer, will handle Mr. Schroll's duties until a successor is hired.
Peoples Bancorp Inc. of Marietta, Ohio, which owns the $1.8 billion-asset Peoples Bank there, has named Richard Ferguson to its board.Mr. Ferguson owns Ferguson Consulting LLC of Columbus, Ohio, which does business valuation and forensic accounting for litigation.
MIDDLE ATLANTICCommercial National Financial Corp. of Latrobe, Pa., has promoted Michael A. Schmidt, newly returned from two years of active military duty, to chief operating officer of its Commercial Bank of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Schmidt, who managed the community banking division of the $372 million-asset bank, served as a major in the Air National Guard. His stint ended in December.
He first joined the bank in 1994. His jobs included customer service specialist, branch manager, and retail sales manager.
WESTCommerce National Bank of Fullerton, Calif., has hired Debora J. Edson as the vice president and operations manager of its newly opened Irvine branch.
Ms. Edson was a vice president, a customer service manager, and an operations officer at Pacific Western National Bank of Santa Monica. She has 14 years of banking experience.
Commerce National has $31 million of assets.
