R-G Crown Bank of Casselberry, Fla., has promoted Patricia A. Kendall to chief administration officer and senior vice president.

Ms. Kendall joined the $3.2 billion-asset unit of R&G Financial Corp. of San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2005 as a vice president and its human resources officer.

Before that she had been a human resources manager and a vice president at Wachovia Bank and, earlier, at SouthTrust Bank, which Wachovia Corp. bought in 2004. She had worked at SouthTrust in a variety of jobs since 1998.

Before that she had worked for six years at First National Bank of Central Florida.


Carolina National Bank of Columbia, S.C., has promoted Jack McElveen Jr. as its first chief operating officer and an executive vice president.

Mr. McElveen had been a senior vice president and the chief credit officer for the $196 million-asset unit of Carolina National Corp. since it opened in 2002.

Before that he had been the Palmetto regional senior credit manager at Wachovia Bank. Earlier he had been a Middle Atlantic sales manager at First Union Bank, whose parent, First Union Corp., bought Wachovia in 2001 and took its name.

He has more than two decades of banking experience.


WESTCenter Financial Corp. of Los Angeles has hired Lisa Kim Pai as its general counsel and corporate secretary.

Ms. Pai, who also has been named an executive vice president of the $1.8 billion-asset bank holding company, was the general counsel and corporate secretary at Hanmi Financial Corp.

Before that she had the same jobs as senior vice president for 10 years at Pacific Union Bank, which Hanmi bought in 2004.

She has 15 years of legal experience.


Heritage Bank of Commerce, a $1.1 billion-asset unit of Heritage Commerce Corp. of San Jose, has hired Gloria McLoughlin as its senior vice president of loan support services.

Ms. McLoughlin was a first vice president and a loan services manager for the Western and Texas divisions at Comerica Bank, where she worked for 25 years.
