Berkshire Bank of Pittsfield, Mass., has hired James A. Sherbo as its head of retail lending and a first vice president.
Mr. Sherbo was a senior vice president in charge of retail lending in Massachusetts and Connecticut for TD Banknorth Inc. He has 20 years of banking and financial industry experience.
Berkshire Bank is a $2.1 billion-asset unit of Berkshire Hills Bancorp Inc.
MIDDLE ATLANTICWSFS Financial Corp. of Wilmington, Del., has hired Cynthia A. Cole as its director of marketing and an executive vice president.
Ms. Cole had the same job and title at Cardinal Bank, a $1.6 billion-asset unit of Cardinal Financial Corp. of McLean, Va. She also had held marketing jobs at Bank of New York and Chase Manhattan Bank, now part of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
WSFS is the $3 billion-asset parent of Wilmington Savings Fund Society.
First Niagara Bank of Lockport, N.Y., has promoted Daniel E. Cantara to executive vice president of commercial business services.
He will remain the western New York regional president for the $7.9 billion-asset unit of First Niagara Financial Group Inc. He joined it in 2001 as the senior vice president of its risk and wealth management businesses.
First Niagara Bank also has hired Thomas L. Amell as its eastern New York regional president and named Kevin O'Connor as the chairman of its advisory board for the region.
Mr. Amell was the New York business banking director and a senior vice president at Citizens Bank of Albany, N.Y. He came to the Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC unit in 2004, when it bought Charter One Bank, where he had been an Albany banking sales manager.
Mr. O'Connor is the chief executive officer of Tech Valley Communications Inc., an Albany telecommunications company he co-founded in 2000.
SOUTHWESTCentennial Bank Holdings Inc. of Denver has hired Jim Simons as its chief credit officer and an executive vice president.
Mr. Simons was a senior credit officer at U.S. Bancorp for the past 10 years. He has 25 years of credit and lending experience.
Centennial Bank Holdings is the $2.7 billion-asset parent of Centennial Bank of the West and Guaranty Bank and Trust Co.
WESTHeritage Bank of Commerce of San Jose has promoted Kelly Davis to regional manager for Los Altos, Calif.
Ms. Davis, who will remain a senior vice president, joined the $1 billion-asset unit of Heritage Commerce Corp. as a loan officer two years ago.
Pinnacle Bank of Beaverton, Ore., has hired Greg Froman as its chief credit officer and an executive vice president.
Mr. Froman came to the five-year-old, $90 million-asset bank from Albina Community Bank of Portland.
He worked for two years at the $135 million-asset Albina Community, most recently as its credit chief and a senior vice president.
He has 30 years of commercial credit experience.
West Coast Bank of Lake Oswego, Ore., has hired Hadley S. Robbins as its chief credit officer.
He will manage the bank's $19 billion loan portfolio. He succeeded Dave Prysock, who will retire March 31 from the $2.5 billion-asset unit of West Coast Bancorp.
Mr. Robbins was a regional business banking manager at Wells Fargo Bank. Before that he had been the chief credit officer of Bank of the Northwest, now part of Wells.
Pacific Coast Bankers' Bancshares of San Francisco has promoted Michael Delucchi to executive vice president and named him its chief marketing officer.
Mr. Delucchi was the chief information officer and a senior vice president of the company's $485 million-asset Pacific Coast Bankers' Bank.
He joined the bank in 1999 as its controller.
