First Home Savings Bank, a Mountain Grove, Mo., unit of First Bancshares Inc., has hired Dale W. Keenan as an executive vice president and its senior loan officer.

Mr. Keenan had been a senior vice president and the chief lending officer at Heritage Bank of the Ozarks of Lebanon for the past four years. Before that he had overseen commercial loans at Peoples Bank of the Ozarks in Nixa.

First Home Savings also has hired John K. Francka as its chief credit officer and a senior vice president.

He came to the $237 million-asset First Home Savings from Springfield's Empire Bank, where for the past five years he had been a commercial lender and an assistant vice president.


MIDDLE ATLANTICFirst Commonwealth Financial Corp. of Indiana, Pa., said Gerald M. Thomchick has resigned as the chief operating officer of the company and the president and chief executive officer of its $6 billion-asset First Commonwealth Bank "to pursue other opportunities."

Mr. Thomchick began his First Commonwealth career in 1985 as its vice president of planning.

John J. Dolan, the company's president and CEO, has taken on Mr. Thomchick's jobs until a successor is found.


WESTPacific Capital Bancorp of Santa Barbara, Calif., has named George S. Leis the president and chief executive officer of the company and its $7.5 billion-asset Pacific Capital Bank.

He succeeded William S. Thomas Jr., who resigned from those posts but will remain with the company in a community relations capacity until his retirement.

Mr. Leis joined Pacific Capital Bancorp in March of last year as the executive vice president of its wealth management business lines. He added the job of chief information officer for the company in July.

Before joining Pacific Capital, Mr. Leis had been a managing director, the U.S. head of products, and a national practice leader for Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management.

Earlier he had been a senior vice president at Wells Fargo & Co. and a director of private client services centers for five years. Before that he had been a senior vice president and a manager at Bank of America Corp.'s private bank.
