Boston Private Financial Holdings Inc. has hired David J. Kaye as its chief financial officer.
He will join the company July 30 and will oversee all financial functions for the $5.6 billion-asset company and its 14 wealth management units.
He will succeed Walter Pressey, the company's president, who has been the acting CFO.
Before joining Boston Private, Mr. Kaye was senior vice president and CFO for Columbia Management, an asset management unit of Bank of America Corp.
MIDWESTAmerican Bank of St. Paul has hired John Kimball as its president and chief executive officer.
He will start his new job early next month and will succeed John Seidal, who resigned in December after 15 years at the $678 million-asset unit of American Bancorp.
Mr. Kimball has been the president of Marshall BankFirst in Minneapolis since April of last year.
Previously he was the Minnesota regional president for Associated Banc-Corp of Green Bay, Wis.
PrivateBank of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., has hired Howard L. Margolis as managing director and director of wealth management.
Before joining the $597 million-asset unit of PrivateBancorp Inc., Mr. Margolis was managing director and national sales director for JPMorgan Private Client Services. Previously he had been vice president and regional trust specialist for the private trust division of Citibank.
Before that he had been vice president and regional marketing officer in the trust and investment services division of Michigan National Bank, now part of ABN Amro Holding NV.
PrivateBancorp has $4.5 billion of assets.
