Peoples Bancorp Inc. of Marietta, Ohio, has hired Deborah K. Hill to fill the newly created position of executive vice president of consumer and business financial services and named Larry E. Holdren to executive vice president of business corporate development.
Mr. Holdren joined Peoples in 1982 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is currently the president of the retail and banking division of Peoples Bank, the $1.9 billion-asset holding company's sole subsidiary. In his new position, he will oversee corporate growth, the expansion of banking centers, and client development and retention.
Ms. Hill will manage Peoples' banking centers, its deposit offerings, its mortgage banking products, and the customer call center/Internet banking client support group.
She has 23 years of financial services experience. Most recently she was senior vice president and regional manager of Wisconsin and Chicago at U.S. Bancorp.
MIDDLE ATLANTICCNB Financial Corp. of Clearfield, Pa., said Dennis. L. Merrey would be its next chairman.
He will succeed William R. Owens, who will retire in November.
Mr. Merrey, a CNB director for 16 years, was the founder and principal owner of Clearfield Powdered Metals Inc., which Hawk Corp. bought in 1998.
CNB is the $820 million-asset parent of CNB Bank.
SOUTHEASTCapital Bank in Raleigh has promoted David Morgan, its Triangle regional president, to executive vice president and chief banking officer.
In his new role, Mr. Morgan will oversee all commercial and retail banking at the $1.4 billion-asset bank.
In addition, Capital has hired David Adams as Raleigh city executive and leader of the Raleigh commercial team; John Moeller as commercial relationship manager on the Raleigh commercial team; and Todd Warrick as senior vice president and north Wake community executive.
Capital Bank is the sole subsidiary of Capital Bank Corp.
Savannah Bancorp Inc. in Georgia has hired Holden T. Hayes as executive vice president of the Savannah Bank; David L. Moore Jr. as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Harbourside Community Bank, the company's South Carolina subsidiary; and Robert T. Whelen Jr. as senior vice president of credit and risk management for the holding company.
Mr. Hayes has 13 years of banking experience, most recently with SunTrust Banks Inc., where he was a senior vice president in charge of wealth and investment management in Savannah.
Mr. Moore had been a market president in the Hilton Head, S.C., region for Wachovia Corp. for the past four years. Before that he had been the credit products officer for Bank of America Corp.'s specialty lending team in Washington, serving nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
Most recently Mr. Whelen was senior vice president of Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust Co. in Baltimore. PNC Financial Services Group Inc. acquired Mercantile and its parent company, Mercantile Bankshares Inc., in March.
Savannah Bancorp has $845 million of assets.
SOUTHWESTArvest Bank in Fayetteville, Ark., has hired Dave Johnson as senior vice president and client advisor in the private banking division.
Mr. Johnson will help customers at a Tulsa branch with retirement planning, asset allocation, estate planning, as well as insurance and investment review and analysis.
He is a certified financial planner with more than 32 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined the $9.5 billion-asset Arvest from BOK Financial Corp.'s Bank of Oklahoma, where was a senior vice president and trust officer.
Arvest is the sole banking unit of Arvest Bank Group Inc. in Bentonville, Ark.
WESTWest Coast Trust of Lake Oswego, Ore., has hired Tim Whalen as vice president and client services manager of asset management and retirement services.
He will be based in West Coast Trust's Portland, Ore., office.
West Coast Trust is a subsidiary of the $2.6 billion-asset West Coast Bancorp.
