Stifel Financial Corp. of St. Louis has hired Christopher K. Reichert as the president of Stifel Bank and Trust.
Mr. Reichert has 20 years of banking experience. Most recently he was a director and the executive vice president in charge of the mortgage business at Pulaski Financial Corp.
Stifel Financial has $201 million of assets.
MIDDLE ATLANTICPennsylvania Commerce Bancorp Inc. of Harrisburg has hired Mark A. Ritter as the chief operating officer for its Commerce Bank/Harrisburg.
He will report to Gary L. Nalbandian, the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of the bank.
Mr. Ritter has 20 years of financial services experience. Before joining the $1.9 billion-asset bank, he was the CEO of Sterling Financial Trust Co., a Lancaster, Pa., unit of Sterling Financial Corp. of Spokane.
F.N.B. Corp. of Hermitage, Pa., has hired Robert V. New Jr. as the president and chief executive officer.
He will start his new job April 1 and will succeed Stephen J. Gurgovits, who has been the $6.1 billion-asset company's president and CEO since January 2004. Mr. Gurgovits, who is also a director of the American Bankers Association, will become the company's chairman at yearend.
Mr. New has more than 30 years of banking experience. He is currently the president and CEO of Green Bank in Houston and helped launch its holding company, Green Bancorp Inc., last year.
WESTSeacoast Commerce Bank of Chula Vista, Calif., has hired Richard M. Sanborn as the president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Sanborn has more than 23 years of financial services experience. Before joining the $63 million-asset bank, he was an executive vice president and the chief banking officer for Pacific Western Bank in San Diego.
Towne Bancorp Inc. of Mesa, Ariz., the $192 million-asset parent company of Towne Bank of Arizona, said Rick Meikle has resigned as the company's president, and Don Fitzpatrick has resigned as its chairman, for personal reasons.
Stephen Brophy and Ron Creasman, two of Towne Bancorp's founding directors, will fill those roles on an interim basis.
SOUTHEASTAppalachian Bancshares Inc. of Ellijay, Ga., has hired Danny F. Dukes as an executive vice president and the chief financial officer of the $884 million-asset company and its Appalachian Community Bank.
On Monday he succeeded J. Keith Hales, who had been the CFO since March 21 and will remain with the company as an executive vice president and the chief operating officer.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry. Before joining Appalachian Bancshares, he was a senior project leader with Callaway Partners LLC.
SOUTHWESTWhitney National Bank of New Orleans has hired Sandy W. Wright as a senior vice president and director of treasury management and commercial payments.
She will be in charge of product development and management, sales management, marketing, external business development, and internal promotion.
She will report to Joseph S. Exnicios, the executive vice president for commercial banking.
Ms. Wright has more than 29 years of banking experience. Before joining the $10.6 billion-asset Whitney she was a senior vice president and national sales director of commercial depository and treasury management for Regions Bank in Birmingham, Ala.
