Executive Changes: MIDWEST

Bank One Corp. in Chicago has promoted Geoffrey L. Stringer, its head of corporate investments, to an executive vice presidency.

He also joined the company's management committee, which includes 19 other senior officers.

Mr. Stringer, who reports to vice chairman David Vitale, was a senior vice president.

His department, which manages $6 billion of assets at the $250 billion- asset company, engages in growth equity, tax-advantaged, and value-oriented investments.

Mr. Stringer, 55, joined First Chicago Corp., now merged into Bank One, in 1974. Rising through the ranks he was successively chief executive officer of First Chicago's leasing, investments, and capital subsidiaries.

Before joining First Chicago he was a strategic planning manager at Mobil Oil. Earlier he was a project engineer for U.S. Steel.
