F. E. Curry Leads Minority Bankers Trade Association In New York City

Frederick E. Curry 3d is the newly elected president of the Urban Bankers Coalition Inc.

The New York-based group is the largest chapter of the National Association of Urban Bankers, whose 3,000 members are minority professionals in financial services and related fields.

Mr. Curry, elected to a two-year term as the New York group's president, is a training and communications manager in the check and commercial loan operations division of Chemical Banking Corp.'s. He is responsible for training and development, employee communications, and event planning.

He formerly was internal vice president of the Urban Bankers Coalition with responsibility for overseeing all internal affairs of the group, which include finance, membership, fund raising, professional development, and by laws.

Mr. Curry, 33, joined Chemical in 1982. He is a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, has a bachelor of science degree from Adelphi University, and is completing his master's degree in business administration at Fordham University.
