Family Tradition Continues at Kitsap

Kitsap Bank in Port Orchard, Wash., has a new chairman whose name is very familiar to its employees and shareholders.

Cydly Langer Smith succeeded her mother, Helen Langer Smith, who is replacing her daughter as the vice chairman of the $900 million-asset bank, it said late Wednesday.

The elder Smith had been the bank's chairman since 1986, when she succeeded her own mother, Hannah Langer.

Kitsap Bank has had only three chairmen over the past century.
