First Commonwealth in Pennsylvania Buys Insurance Agency

First Commonwealth Financial in Indiana, Pa., has acquired Thompson/McLay Insurance Associates.

Thompson/McLay, which is also based in Indiana, offers home, auto, commercial and specialty insurance. The agency will keep its name and operate as a division of First Commonwealth Insurance Agency. The company did not disclose the price.

"This partnership brings with it the addition of experienced sales and account management personnel, as well as a solid reputation among insurance carriers," Michael Bartolini, First Commonwealth Insurance Agency, said in a press release Friday.

First Commonwealth Insurance Agency is focusing on three primary categories: employee benefits consulting, personal and commercial property and casualty offerings, and client consultation tied to the Affordable Care Act.
