First Data Corp. has expanded its agreement with Getin Noble Bank SA of Warsaw, Poland, to include card-issuing and payment processing services for the bank's contactless card program.
The transaction processor already provides the issuer with its regular plastic card-issuing and payment-processing services. Now Getin Noble will tie MasterCard Inc.'s PayPass contactless chip to its debit cards. First Data, a unit of the private-equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., will issue and process the magnetic stripe cards on the bank's behalf, the processor said Jan. 19.
Cardholders may use the contactless function for purchases up to $18, according to First Data. Cardholders also may use the card to withdraw money from any Maestro or Cirrus automated teller machine.
