First Data Stock Offering Plan is Seen

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. may be planning a public offering for its First Data Corp. unit, according to a report in Financial Times.

A spokeswoman for the Denver processor wrote in an e-mail Monday that the company would not discuss the report.

The New York private-equity company took First Data private in September 2007 in a $29 billion leveraged buyout.

KKR is considering public offerings for other of its portfolio holdings, including the retailer Toys R Us, the medical company HCA Inc., the Danish telecom firm TDC and Dollar General Corp., a discount retailer, the newspaper reported.
