First Federal Bankshares Inc. of Sioux City, Iowa, has renamed its First Federal Bank subsidiary Vantus Bank.

A team of directors, bank executives, and a professional naming organization selected the name, which conveys "the individual spirit of the bank while positioning it for the future," First Federal said Tuesday.
The $645 million-asset company said it hopes to change all the related signage by the end of the month.
Michael Dosland, the president and chief executive of Vantus and the holding company, said in a press release: "Our new identity is important to our future plans to expand customer services and banking locations."
The holding company said it plans to keep the First Federal name.
