Flagstar Hires Former WaMu Chief Risk Officer, Adds General Counsel

Flagstar Bancorp (FBC) in Troy, Mich., has added two key executives.

Hugh Boyle became the $14 billion-asset company's chief risk officer in January, Flagstar said Friday. He succeeded Todd McGowan, who became Flagstar's managing director of regulatory affairs, a company spokeswoman said.

Before joining Flagstar, Boyle was chief risk officer at FirstCaribbean International Bank in Barbados. Before that he had been the chief risk officer at Washington Mutual until 2007.

Michael Flynn was named Flagstar's general counsel last month, the company said Friday. He succeeded Matt Roslin, who left the company, the spokeswoman said. Flynn was general counsel for PNC Financial Group's PNC Mortgage before joining Flagstar.

Last month, the Treasury Department auctioned the $267 million stake it held in Flagstar through the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
