Foreclosures Stymie Codorus' 4Q Results

Codorus Valley Bancorp Inc. in York, Pa., reported a slight dip in fourth-quarter earnings compared to a year earlier.

The $957 million-asset company earned $847,000, or 21 cents a share, in the quarter, it said on Thursday. That compares to $857,000 a year earlier. Codorus said that its results had been stymied by "carrying costs and impairment losses on foreclosed real estate."

Codorus' full-year earnings, at $5.2 million, more than doubled those of 2009; the company attributed the gain mostly to improved deposit pricing.
