Freddie Home Loan Portfolio Shrinks

Freddie Mac said its portfolio of home loan assets declined at an annual rate of 1% last month.

The portfolio contracted by $665 million in December, to $804.8 billion, after surging in October and November as regulators sought to push down mortgage rates, according to the McLean, Va., government-sponsored enterprise's monthly volume summary, released Friday.
