Heartland of Ohio Expands Web Bill Pay

Heartland BancCorp said Thursday that it has added bill presentment and person-to-person payments to its online bill-pay functions.

The new features allow customers to sign up for, view and pay bills through the Gahanna, Ohio, bank's website. They also allow electronic payments to other consumers regardless of the recipient's bank.

"Continuing to advance our electronic delivery channels is what clients want out of their bank these days," G. Scott McComb, Heartland's president and chief executive, said in a press release.

The new system also allows for faster payments, McComb said, allowing many bills to be paid within a day of when they are due.

In February Heartland launched an iPhone app.
