Mark W. Midkiff, a former Wachovia chief risk officer, has landed at UnionBanCal Corp. in San Francisco as deputy chief credit officer.

Patrick Burke was named senior executive vice president and CEO of HSBC Finance Corp's card and retail services division.

Bank of America named Steve Baranoff as chairman of global mergers and acquisitions, and Stefan Selig as executive vice chairman of its global corporate and investment bank.
