Hudson City,Jersey Thrift,Taps HermanceAs President

Hudson City Savings Bank, Paramus, N.J., has named Ronald E. Hermance Jr. president, succeeding Leonard S. Gudelski.

Mr. Gudelski will remain Hudson City's chairman and chief executive.

Mr. Hermance came aboard in 1988 as senior executive vice president and a member of the board of managers. He was named chief operating officer in 1989. Before joining Hudson City, he was chief financial officer of Southold Savings Bank in New York.

Hudson City Savings Bank is a $6.7 billion-asset mutual savings bank.
