ID Tech, a supplier of point-of-sale devices, will add TransArmor data encryption and tokenization technology from First Data to certain SecureMag swipe readers.
TransArmor protects consumer payment card data, First Data said Thursday. It equips swipe devices with tokenization and end-to-end encryption technology that provides a randomly assigned number representing a card account number in merchant transactions.
SecureMag, a magnetic stripe card reader, has several operational security levels allowing users to select the security profile needed. TransArmor adds another layer of protection.
