In Brief: 4 Banks as Identrus Certificate Authorities

NEW YORK — Four financial institutions have begun using Identrus LLC’s global system for Internet trust identity.

ABN Amro Bank, Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, and Hypovereinsbank are the first to become Identrus certificate authorities, and they will issue Identrus global IDs to their corporate customers.

Member buyers and sellers can use the Identrus global trust system to identify counterparts worldwide. They can also negotiate, make payments and securely conduct commercial banking activities online.

The four financial institutions are also the first the launch applications on the system that take advantage of Identrus’ identity verification capabilities. These applications will secure electronic marketplaces, messaging, document transfer, commercial insurance sales, foreign exchange, online bill payments, and commercial Internet banking.
