Affiliated Managers Group Inc., a holding company for investment management firms, announced Tuesday that it will introduce a platform to sell and service mutual funds and other investment products.

Managers Investment Group LLC is to create, distribute, and service mutual funds through intermediaries.
Nate Dalton, an executive vice president at Affiliated Managers Group in Boston, said the platform will let his company expand its product offerings and gain access to new segments of the retail marketplace.
The platform is to be run by a team from three AMG affiliates - Bruce Aronow of Rorer Asset Management, Peter Lebovitz of Managers Funds, and John Streur of Portfolio Services Group.
