In Brief: Amro Hires Deutsche Bank High-Yield Exec

Bloomberg News

LONDON - ABN Amro NV said Thursday that it has hired Vincent Keith to head European high-yield capital markets.

Mr. Keith had been Deutsche Bank AG's head of high-yield capital markets in London. Before that he worked at Bankers Trust Co. in New York and London, heading the emerging-markets debt syndicate and bond syndicate.

High-yield, or leveraged, loans in Europe grew 147%, to $91 billion, last year, according to Thomson Financial Securities Data; acquisitions in the region doubled, to a record $1.2 trillion. Analysts predict that sales of high-yield bonds in the region will grow by as much as 40% this year and say the growth will be fueled by companies trying to finance restructuring.
