AmSouth Bancorp. of Birmingham, Ala., has picked up two former SouthTrust Corp. executives to lead its mortgage banking division.
AmSouth hired Larry Hamilton to be an executive vice president and the head of AmSouth Mortgage. Mr. Hamilton was a senior executive vice president at SouthTrust, which Wachovia Corp. bought in November. Wade King was hired as a senior vice president and national mortgage sales manager. He was SouthTrust Mortgage Corp.'s chief executive.
Both joined AmSouth on Monday, and their hires were announced Wednesday. Bill Horton, the previous head of AmSouth Mortgage, has taken over business banking, a spokesman said.
