Belarusbank, Belarus' largest banking company, is replacing several major software systems with an integrated suite of applications from SAP AG of Walldorf, Germany.
SAP for Banking will replace several decentralized banking systems that the $4.3 billion-asset Minsk company uses at its six regional branches and 114 local branches. SAP said that will allow Belarusbank to create a unified branch network.
The banking company, which is trying to expand in Eastern and Central Europe, said it expects the SAP software to provide better control over its customer database and help it keep track of its more than 100 banking services and products.
SAP made the Belarusbank announcement last week. It announced in May that State Bank of India, the country's largest commercial bank, would use enterprise resource planning software from SAP to automate its human resource management.
