In Brief: BTAlex. Brown Group Hires a Finance Exec

division of Bankers Trust Corp., has hired Frederic Stevenin as a director in its leveraged finance group in London. Mr. Stevenin, who began work last week, will be responsible for leveraged finance activities with a focus on France and southern Europe. He reports to Matthew Collins, managing director and head of European debt capital markets. Mr. Stevenin was hired from Paribas Principal Investment, where he worked in the food and consumer goods section as a vice president since 1993. Before that, he worked in an advisory capacity in private banking with Paris-based Banque Paribas.
