Ameriquest Mortgage Co. on Friday said its chief executive, Kirk Langs, has retired.
Wayne Lee succeeded Mr. Langs as CEO while remaining the president of the wholesale lender Argent Mortgage Co. of Irvine, Calif. Argent and Ameriquest Mortgage are both subsidiaries of Ameriquest Capital Corp.
Ameriquest said Mr. Langs, 46, "wants to spend more time with his family and pursue different interests."
Mr. Lee has been with the Orange, Calif., firm for 15 years. He started as an area manager and was promoted to executive vice president of sales and later senior executive vice president of sales and operations. In 2000 he was put in charge of the wholesale unit, then named AMC Wholesale.
