The top executive at CenterState Bank West Florida in Zephyrhills has abruptly resigned, the bank's parent company said Wednesday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
James S. Stalnaker Jr. resigned Monday as president, chief executive, and director of the $277 million-asset bank. The filing did not say why
Ernest S. Pinner, the president and CEO of the holding company, the $1.1 billion-asset CenterState Banks of Florida Inc., was named the bank's interim CEO.
Phone calls to Mr. Pinner were not returned.
CenterState Banks of Florida earned $8.5 million in 2006, up 34%.
