CLEVELAND Charter One Financial has announced a limited-time promotion that awards customers points toward free merchandise and travel benefits each time they make a bill payment over the Internet.

Customers who are enrolled in the Charter Ones MasterCard MegaRewards debit card program will automatically earn one point for every dollar in Internet payments they make through charterone.com. The promotion is to end June 30.
The MegaRewards program, which was introduced in December, gives customers one point for every dollar they spend with their Charter One debit card. The points can be redeemed for merchandise and travel on any airline. Customers can earn rewards with as few as 1,500 points.
