Countrywide Commercial Real Estate Finance Inc., a unit of Countrywide Financial Corp. of Calabasas, Calif., has hired a JPMorgan Chase & Co. veteran as a senior vice president in its New York regional office.
Bill Lafferty, an 18-year veteran of commercial real estate and credit analysis, was a team leader of JPMorgan Mortgage Capital's commercial mortgage-backed securities office in New York last year. The year before that he was a top producer in the firm's Atlanta office, Countrywide said Friday in a press release. Before that he spent 13 years with MetLife Real Estate Investments in Atlanta, where he oversaw mortgage production.
Mr. Lafferty said in the press release that he was swayed by Countrywide's "commitment to making this new business unit a major player in the commercial real estate debt arena."
The commercial real estate unit was created in April. Mr. Lafferty joined it last month.
