Philip N. Russo, a financial services executive with more than 20 years' experience, was named chief financial officer of Delaware Investments Monday.
Mr. Russo has responsibility for all of the Philadelphia company's financial matters, it said. He joins the senior management team and reports to Jude T. Driscoll, the president and CEO. Among the areas under his direction are budgeting, planning, treasury, and taxation.
Joseph H. Hastings, who was Delaware Investments' interim chief financial officer for about a year, will remain at the company as controller and treasurer and report to Mr. Russo.
The investment company hired Mr. Russo from Prudential Financial Inc. in Newark, N.J., where he was vice president of finance for Prudential Investment Management Inc. He was appointed to the post when the business was started in 1998, and in this role he established the Prudential unit's financial infrastructure.
Before that, he held progressively more responsible posts at Bankers Trust Co. in York for 16 years.
