The North Canton, Ohio, automated teller machine vendor announced the deal Wednesday, and said it would provide both preventative maintenance and repair services, for kiosks in the field and at warehouses.

Besides self-serve kiosks, Source Technologies offers check printing technology and payment processing software. Its Concourse line of kiosks is used by banks, retailers, utilities, and telecommunications companies. Bank customers can use them to cash checks and pay bills, among other things. Retailers use them to enable people to apply for credit cards or locate specific products within a store.

Source said that turning over its maintenance tasks to Diebold would give its customers a single point of contact for service issues.

Chuck Ducey, the senior vice president of global development and service at Diebold, said in a press release that his company's extensive experience keeping its own machines operational "transfers well into the kiosk marketplace."
