MetroCorp Bancshares Inc. of Houston has agreed to use online banking and bill-payment software from Digital Insight Corp. to expand its customer base.
The Calabasas, Calif., banking technology vendor said Tuesday that the $1.19 billion-asset bank holding company plans to offer customers its Internet Banking, Business Banking, and Bill Payment applications.
MetroCorp said that its retail subsidiaries, MetroBank NA and Metro United Bank, have 50,000 online retail and commercial customers.
George Lee, MetroCorp's chief executive and executive vice chairman, said in a Digital Insight press release that using the vendor's software will let it focus on providing its core banking services and help "position MetroCorp for growth through the online channel."
