SALT LAKE CITY - The American Bankers Association has approved Digital Signature Trust's policy governing the issuance, use, and management of the latter's Trust ID certificates, paving the way for financial institutions to begin issuing the digital certificates.
The policy regulates the use of digital certificates between organizations and across industry lines. It is designed to ensure that the certificates are universally accepted, much as credit cards are accepted at many retail sites today. The ABA's approval was announced Tuesday.
