Experian announced late Wednesday that it had purchased MarketSwitch Corp., a company in Dulles, Va., that sells credit decisioning software to lending companies such as Capital One Financial Corp. and the Discover Financial Services division of Morgan Stanley & Co.
Experian is the credit bureau subsidiary of GUS PLC of Nottingham, U.K. In North American it is based in Costa Mesa, Calif., where its operations include Experian-Scorex North America, which markets credit scoring products and services. MarketSwitch has become a division of that unit, which itself is a division of Experian Credit Services.
Separately, Experian also announced that it had named two new executives. H. Walter Ramsey joined the company Monday as president in North America; and Duane Good joined as vice president of product delivery and operations.
