In Brief: FDIC Nominee's Confirmation Seen Today

WASHINGTON - Senate confirmation is expected today of John M. Reich to the board of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., sources close to Mr. Reich said Thursday. Mr. Reich, a former Florida banker, is chief of staff for retiring Sen. Connie Mack, R-Fla.

Mr. Reich has been a top aide to Sen. Mack since 1989. He said he spent 25 years in the banking business in Florida and Illinois, including a 10-year stint as president and chief executive of National Bank of Sarasota, Fla., which had $450 million of assets before being acquired by Citizens and Southern National Bank in 1987.
