In Brief: First Union Widens NYCE Participation

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. - First Union, the Charlotte, N.C., banking company, has agreed to include all of its automated teller machines and ATM access cards in the NYCE network.

Previously, its participation in NYCE was limited to the cards and ATMs associated with some branches in Maryland.

"Since joining NYCE in 1996, we have seen the network significantly grow in terms of geography, resources, and technology, providing our customers with greater and more convenient access to their money," said Ralph Perry, senior vice president at First Union.
