In Brief: Fleet Picks Zentropy To Design Web Site

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Zentropy Partners, a Cambridge, Mass., digital consulting and development company has designed Fleet Credit Card Services' recently launched Web site.

The site, cards.fleet.com, features a menu of interactive components designed to help cardholders manage their online accounts.

Customers can use the site to review past statements, set transaction level alerts, request credit line increases, and read financial primers, such as a short history of credit in contemporary civilization and a detailed breakdown of the cards industry.

Cardholders can also reach other services through the site, such as price comparisons and merchant ratings.

Fleet said it hired Zentropy because of its digital design expertise and its accommodation of the card company's business model.

Zentropy "has proven to be extremely flexible and adept at enabling our traditional service for e-business," said Jay Lee, senior vice president of the card company's e-Business Group.

The digital consulting firm was formed last year from the merger of several high-growth subsidiaries of the Interpublic Group of Cos. in New York. Its clients include Microsoft Corp., PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Brooks Brothers.

Fleet Credit Card Services, of Horsham, Pa., is the eighth-largest combined Visa and MasterCard issuer in the country. It manages eight million accounts and $14 billion of receivables. Its parent company, FleetBoston Financial Corp., has $189 billion of assets.
