In Brief: Fremont Introduces ‘New Era’ Value Fund

SAN FRANCISCO — Fremont Investment Advisors has introduced a value fund that buys stocks from all sectors, including technology, biotechnology, and health-care.

The Fremont New Era Value Fund, started Jan. 3, is to include traditional value stocks and undervalued growth stocks, such as technology stocks that do not pay dividends.

Nancy Tengler, president and chief investment officer of Fremont Investment, will manage the fund.

Fremont Investment, which manages $8 billion for individual and institutional investors, is a subsidiary of Fremont Group, a San Francisco private investment company with $14 billion of assets under management. Fremont Investment advises its parent’s family of 12 no-load funds.
